The purpose of study is the theoretical and computational investigation of the excergetical and energetical balances of the process that includes transformation of coking gas to synthesis gas (on the example of the pre-reactorionary and reactionary zones of the USTK-SG reactor). The investigation is based on calculating both new thermodynamic functions and characteristics of chemical conversion reactions and their components with taking into account not only the first, but also the second and the third laws of thermodynamics. The computer aided simulation was performed too. For the first time the excergetical balances both the characteristics of initial and finite (purposeful) products of thermochemical conversion of coal mixtures of different degrees of metamorphism were studied. The results obtained evidence the necessity to master the mass balances not by the products (classical method) but by the chemical elements.
