Application field: metallurgy and extra-furnace processes of deoxidation, refining, alloying or modification of the metal melt. 3. Essence of the invention: the method includes layer-by-layer placing of dosed amount of reagents in a container, immersion of the loaded container into the melt and keeping it there till the reagents melting with simultaneous mixing of the melt by jet gas-and liquid flows that outflow the container in tangential directions relative to the container. The novelty is in the fact that the container with the reagents designed as a jet-vortex mixer is forced to immerge into the melt using a vertical support; mixing of the melt is intensified by jet and vortex flows formed by vertical back and forward movements of the mixer and jet flows formed by impulses of kinetic energy obtained owing to successive evaporation and melting of reagent layers. The essence of the invention is also in the fact that the device for inputting the reagents into the metal melt and its mixing includes the active body supplied by jet engine that forms tangentially directed gas and liquid flows of molten reagents and is designed as a container that is loaded layer-by-layer with reagents, their melting temperature being lower than the temperature of the melt; the active body is designed as a jet-vortex mixer that is concentrically located and is rigidly fixed at the lower end of the vertical support that is able to move back and forth in the vertical direction; the reagents are coaxially located groups of annular elements each of which is made of particular reagent, annular elements are concentrically located on the support and in each group they are located coaxially and/or in layers, and one of the inner annular elements is made of a reagent whose evaporation temperature is lower than that of the melt; the container with the reagents is placed in a case with disks that cover it from above and from the bottom and serve as a heat shield, the lower disk is supplied with blades that transform the radial movement of the reagent into spiral one, the blades are evenly located plates that are fixed at the peripheral part of the disk that, together with the heat shield, serve as a vortex generator that forms channels for outflow of the reagents in the form of jet-vortex flows that effect the treated melt as flows of jet engine. In each group of annular elements magnesium powder is mainly used as a reagent with minimal evaporation temperature. 5. Technical result: reduction of the amount of reagents due to their better assimilation; improvement of the quality of the melt owing to more effective mixing; increased desulphuration.
