Berezhnoy" popup.description2 The object of research is zirconium refractories containing 15 - 17 % of Y2O3 for the sets intended for the monocrystals growing. The work purpose is the technology improvement for producing zirconium refractories stabilized by Y2O3. The research methods and apparatus are chemical as well as roentgenstructurous. An influence of the stabilizing aid Y2O3 amount and monoclinic aid ZrO2 on the main indices of samples properties from electrofused zirconium dioxide was researched. It was ascertained that when increasing Y2O3 content from 10 up to 24 % the values of their open porosity and thermal shock resistance are reduced from 21 up to 17,1 % and from 3 up to 1 heat cycle conformably and the strength increases from 41,9 up to 68,4 MPa. It was determined that for obtaining maximum value of the thermal shock resistance of samples when increasing Y2O3 content (10 - 16 - 24 %) in them it is necessary to introduce a larger amount of monoclinic ZrO2 and namely 7,5; 10; 12,5 % correspondingly. An introduction of 2,5 - 5,0 % of monoclinic ZrO2 results in the strength increase of samples of all compositions. With regard for the testing results the change N 1 for ТУ У 14-7-192-2000 was worked out and the trial lots of zirconium refractories of 3 compositions, including 2 compositions with a content Y2O3 lesser than 18% were produced which were transferred to the possession of the custoneeis for carrying out testing in the sets for the mono crystals growing. The scientific works was applied in the open joint stock company " The Ukrainian research institute named after A.S.Berezhnoy". This work should be continued for the purpose of further perfecting the manufacture technology and improving the quality indices of products.
