In this scientific work the thermal expansion of unfired mullite blocks was determined as well an availability of anisotropy of this indice parallel and perpendicular to the pressing axis of blocks. Strength indices of carbonaceous mix were determined as well as the dependence of relative strain of this mix on the specific load in the temperatures interval 20 - 250oC was established. The thermal conductivity coefficients of cool rammed carbonaceous, chamotte-carbonaceous, periclasecarbonaceous mixes and tarcontaining products were determined.
