Work purpose - the technology development of calcium hexaaluminat lightweight materils which are principially new type of heatinsultating production. The research methods are chemical, petrographycal, roentgenphase, physicomechanical, thermogravimetric and thermophysical. The research was carried out as well as the technological parameters for the manufacture of microporous lightweight products of calcium hexaaluminate composition were worked out. Trial product of an industrial form with a mass share of Al2O3 not less than 90%, apparent density not more than 1,3 g/cm3, compression strength not less than 3,5 MPa, thermal conductivity at tav.=650oC not more than 0,40 Wt/(m.k) and service temperature up to 1600oC. The project of the technical instruction and the specification were worked-out. The stability of developed lightweight material was studied as well as the possibility to use it in CO atmosphere at 1450oC wasascertained. It was established using the research that the thermalconductivity of calcium hexaaluminate lightweight material is 2 time lower and the strength is 1,5 - 2 times higher compared with a traditional corundum product of the same apparent density. For a number of enterprises of Ukraine trial lots of hightemperature calcium hexaaluminate and corundum lightweight refractories were produced. Trial lots of the production were transferred for the possession of customers. The trend is a subsequent perfection which includes the manufacture of trial lots, the broadening of employment locations and the study of service characteristics of developed lightweight refractories.
