Work purpose - technology perfection of corundumspinel and mullitecorundum crucibles for the smelting of alloys and steels and the manufacture of trial lots.Research methods - petrographycal,chemical, physicomechanical, roentgenographic. The investigation on the determination of an influence of the qualty and the grain composition of fused ultrapure periclase on the properties of corundum samples was carried. It was shown that when using the periclase the synthesis of the spinel of different phase composition occurs besically with the binder alumina and partially with the corundum of the filler.It was ascertained than an introduction in the charge of 6% of periclase with the fraction lesser than 1 mm allows to manufacture produces with optimum indices of properties. An influence of the phase composition, an amount and grain composition of fused spinel on properties of corundum spinal samples was studied. The compositions were developed as well as trial crucibles of corundummullite periclase, corundum spinal periclase and corundumpericlase compositions were produced. Trial lot are being tested now. Trial lots of mullitecorundum and corundum spinel compositions with open porosity of 13,0 - 18,0 % were produced. Corundum spinel crucibles meet the technological process of casting of high temperature strength alboys in vacuum in State enterprise " Zoria-Mashproyekt".
