The measures of active oxygen concentration by sensors "CELOX-Multylab" on The Krivoj Rog State-Owned Integrated Mining and Metallurgical Works "Krivorozhstal" were carried out. Obtained results shows the clear dependence between oxygen activity and carbon content in steel, which is very near to calculated equilibrium curve. It was shown the high concentration of oxygen in steel caused to increased loss of deoxidation ferroalloys and aluminium and leads to stability reducing of chemical compound and properties of steel, to arise surface defects. The dependencies allows on the base of oxygen activity measure result to calculate the necessary quantity of silicomanganese and ferromanganese for receiving a set chemical compound of steel that allows to optimise deoxidation technique.
