The analysis of reflection pictures showed that the clean coal supplied to the works contains coal of different grades in varying proportions. This causes instability in blend and coke properties. Alternative compositions of the raw material base for coking were tested using imported coals. The properties of the sorbents produced by activation of coals were studied and recommendation were given on the improvement of the technology and equipment of the works facility.
