To make this task accomplished, individual sub-tasks have been addressed (i) to investigate and parameterise the most important biogeochemical processes of nitrogen cycling in the water column, (ii) to investigate and parameterise physical transport of solutes and suspended forms of organic matter and other redox species, (iii) to investigate and parameterise redox and dissolved/suspended transformations of elements that have been found to be important for nitrogen cycling, (iv) to reconstruct the vertical fluxes and budget of individual forms of nitrogen, and (v) to numerically investigate redox cycling of nitrogen in the Black Sea water column.
