Sensitivity of biogeochemical cycles to various alterations in external conditions has been partially studied within the frame of the stationary model. An approach is developed for delineation of interannual variability of the Black Sea upper thermocline in the framework of one-dimensional model. This approach has resulted in the possibility to parameterize variations in the thermohaline properties of the Cold Intermediate layer and concentration of oxygen within this layer due to variations in the climate conditions over the Black Sea.
