It is shown that it is reaconable to include two more coals into the active coal classification (DSTU 3472-96), namely fat gas coal (GZh) and bean fat coal (ZhO), and to fiinalize the limiting values of classification parameters for separate coal grades in order to determine their true technological value. The propercties of Russian coals supplied to Ukraine were studied and recommendations were given on theis use in blends for coking. Conformance of actual quality indices was assesed for coal concentrates supplied by Ukrainian washeries for cokemaking and recommendations were given on the use of clean coal from different washeries in the blends for 2003 on the reduction of norms for ash and moisture content on some Ukraine washeries.
