Relic P. sylvestris populations from the Ukrainian Carpathians are characterized by a lower genetic diversity, compared to the populations from another parts of its area. The lowest level of heterozygosity is characteristic of the P.sylvestris marginal population from the southern part of its range in Ukraine. Genetic differences of the cites of the different altitude on the Crimea Mountains macroslopes within the limits of P. pallasiana D.Don continuum have been determined, and that of P.mugo Turra in the Ukrainian Carpathians. The primary analysis of phylogenetic links of the seven native for Ukraine Pinus L.species has been performed. Nei's genetic distances (Dn) ranged from 0.017 to 0.100 for the subsection Sylvestris with the exception for P.pityusa Stev. For the latter species Dn varied within the limits of 0.397 to 0.532. The maximum differences of Dn (0.060 to 0.475) were detected between P. cembra, belonging to Cembrae subsection, and the species of subsection Sylvestris. The lower genetic diversity was exhibited by P.sylvestris populations, degrading due to the damaging effect of the chemical enterprises emissions, compared to the undamaged populations. No pronounced correlation between the heterozygosity of the mother plants and injures in seedlings, obtained from these plants seeds, caused by sulphurous gas.
