The work purpose - the finalizing of composition plugs of a new design for the bottom blowing of steel and a lowcement corundum spinel mix for the lining of steelteeming ladles. The research methods are chemical, petrographical, physicomecanical, spectral. A new composition on the basis of fused materials: corundum, mullite and spinel ensuring an increase of the thermalshock resistance~ by 2 times compared with a corundumspinel composition and an increase of the slagstability ~ by 2 times compared with a mullitecorundum composition was worked out . An application for a supposed invention is handed in. Trial lots of mullitecorundum spinel composition plugs with a height 350, 380 and 450 mm were produced. The testing of trial lots in steelteeming ladles ЗАО"ММЗ"ИСТИЛ(Ukraine)", НТЗ and "Dnieprospezstal" plant showed their stable blowability and more safe functioning compared with plugs of other producers including foreign plugs.Trial plugs with an increased by 30% are a of blowing slits were worked out and produced and were sent for the testing. The work should be continued for the purpose of optimizing of sizes of blowing plugs in steelteeming ladles of the works of Ukraine and nearest foreign countries.
