The research methods are differential, thermal,thermomechanical, physicochemical, chemical-analytical and structure phase methods, electronmicroscopic research. The technology of periclaselimecarbon refractories on the basis of home made dolomite graphite, antioxidant and imported slightly toxic phenol formaldehyde resins was elaborated. Main indices of physicomechanical properties of developed products were determined as well as technological parameters of the manufacture were corrected. Trial lot of periclaselimecarbon refractories of new standard sizes for carrying out industrial testings at O.J.S.C."Electrometallurgical" works "Dnieprospezstal" was produced. Syntetic pitch of Carbores brand of Rutgers company and its influence on properties of periclase limecarbon refractories both after the thermal treatment at 180oC and after coking firing at 980oC was researched.The work results may be used when manufacturing trial lots of periclaselimecarbon refractories at the pilotscale production of O.J.S.C"The Ukrainian research institute of refractories named after A.S.Berezhnoy". Developed refractories are intended for using in the liming elements of different metallurgical sets directly in contact with basic or highly basic slags in operation.
