An optimum level of grinding has been established for low rank coals of the Western and Central Donbass. A preparation scheme was developed for coal blend in coal preparation shop No.2 consisting in preliminary crushing of low stamping coals; it is shown that it is reasonable to introduce this scheme. The effect of coke brege of different orushing on the stamping caracity of the coal blend was studied and also swelling pressure and quality of coke.
