For the first time in the Ukrainian philology as well as in Slavonic studies the inte-gral database of prepositions is created, their structural manifestations with the consistent determination of the core and periphery are de-scribed, the interrelation between lexical, morphological and syntactic aspects on prepositional level is fixed. The typical manifestations of government are determined. The results of the research effort are incul-cated in the study of Modern Ukrainian Literary Language in the insti-tute of higher education. The reserch methods: component analysis, transformational generalization, grammar norms identification. The Ukrainian prepositions in comparison with the east-slavonic ones in diachronic and synchronistic aspects are the object of the reserch work.
