Research objectives: refinement of a mathematical model of the dynamics of the VPM for driver's seats, choosing rational structural parameters and designing the VPM. The development of the technique for drawing out vibration parameters from a detector signal and a structural schematic for radio-wave motion meter. The method used: mathematical modelling and experimental studies of the VPM dynamic processes. Equipment: ITM's SDI-6 stand for dynamic tests of vibration-protected systems. Computer-aided system for gathering and processing the PC-based test results. Analytical and practical results: a mathematical model of a general-purpose VPM is refined with reference to elastic deformation of rubber-cord casing. The VPM is designed, and prototypes are fabricated. The VPM's dynamic characteristics are tested. The validity of the mathematical model proposed was borne out. The technique developed extends an area of a unique determination of the amplitude of vibration displacements to the values corresponding to some lengths of an electromagnetic wave without using too costly hardware with special software.
