Work purpose - analysis of standard sizes of chromic oxide refractories for a modern one stage set for a glass fiber manufacture and the work - out of recommendations on their mechanical mashining using a diamond instrument. Research method - investigations of cutting of refractory products has been carried out on a cutting machine of СРК modification 500/800 by means of diamond tools with a different characteristics and the wear - out of diamond bearing layer was determined using measurement and weighing methods. An analysis of literature sources was carried - out, the technology of a mechanical treatment process of intricately largescale chromic oxide refractory products was worked - out, diamond instrument was chosen, a rigging grinding and cutting of intricately shoped largescale products was produced. On the basis of carried - out research andof technological developments recommendations on a mechanical treatment with diamond instrument of sets of chromic oxide refractories for modern one stage sets for the glassfiber production were worked out as well as trial lots of intricately shoped largescaled products were produced. The work should be continued for the purpose of perfecting mechanical mashining technology of chromic oxide refractory blocks for glassmaking furnaces.
