Aim of activity - obtaining the large volumes of spatially homogeneous plasma in depending on the parameters of a beam and excited surface wave and parameters of discharge structure. Method of research - the theoretical analysis and the computer numerical simulations. It has been developed the theoretical models of excitation of electromagnetic eigenwaves by ring-type beams in discharge chambers with cylindrical geometry, which are partially filled by magnetoactive plasma. Starting from the numerical and analytical solution methods of a set of Maxwell equations, the system of differential equations for amplitude and phase of eigenwaves, equations of motion and the equation of an energy balance are obtained. It has been investigated both the fields distribution and the relation of volume of plasma, which is sustainedin the discharge chambers owing to the surface eigenwaves propagation. The possibility of creation of effective plasma sources is established, which utilize the propagation of surface waves for maintenance of gas discharge in a regime of excitation by ring-type beam.
