Karazin popup.description2 The objects of study were liver mitochondria and postmitochondrial fraction and blood serum of 3- and 20-month-old rats. The effect of NO-radical donor sodium nitroprusside on functional state of mitochondria and prooxidant-antioxidant balance under standart and calorie restricted diets (CRD) was investigated. It was established that sodium nitroprusside injections led to the increase of phosphorylating oxidation rate and respiration control of liver mitochondria during oxidation of glutamate and malate in rats with standart diet. Sodium nitroprusside didn't cause the change of these indices in 20-month-old rats under CRD. At the same time the lipid peroxidation intensity in liver mitochondria, postmitochondrial fraction and blood serum in rats didn't change under standart diet and was increased in mitochondria of 20-month-old rats under CRD. In response to sodium nitroprusside injection there were observed tendention to decrease of glutathione peroxidase activity and significant increase of glutathione-S-transferase activity in mitochondria of rats with CRD and increase of superoxide dismutase and ceruloplasmin activities in blood of 20-month-old animals under standart diet.
