It is based on the resonance method of eddy-current monitoring. IT-2 is used widely for testing surface layers of different structure. Depending on customer's requirements, and test conditions, the instrument can be designed for different sensitivity characteristics, and with a different set of probes, e.g. a probe with the width of the working zone up to 100 мм for monitoring big surfaces.
