The purpose of the work - the samples quality investigation of kaolins and clays and spoilage causes determination of chamotte, mullite products, produced at OJSC "Zaporozhogneupor". Methods of researches are chemical, petrographic, roentgen graphic, thermal graphic and electron microscopic. Chemical mineral and granulometric compositions determinations of kaolins and clays samples were performed, their sintering process was investigated, chemical and phase compositions of chamotte were determined as well as ceramic properties. The optimal temperature for kaolins and clays firing for chamotte was established. Chemical and phase composition of chamotte and mullite products was studied, ceramic properties were determined. Spoilage causes of mullite and chamotte products were determined, that was connected with uneven distribution of additives in clay and kaolin.
