Karazin popup.description2 Photometric and polarimetric characteristics of a western portion of the lunar disk by Earth-based telescopic data are studied. Earth-based telescopic photometric and polarimetric observations of the Moon were carried out with the telescope Zeiss-600 of Crimean Observatory (Simeiz) in 2001-2003 years. Distributions of albedo — A for large portion of the western part of the lunar disk at the small phase angle 17 grad., phase-ratio and parameter of polarimetric anomalies were obtained by the digital processing. The images include the swirl — Reyner Gamma Formation (RGF). Our results clearly show that on average the RGF in the phase angle range 87-134 grad. unexpectedly reveals smaller forward scattering than surroundings. This contradicts to widely believed opinion that the RGF is a forward scatterer. The found effect is due to surface roughness; it does not compensated with the albedo influence.
