Karazin popup.description2 Objects of investigation - crown-containing derivatives of chalcone and cyanine dyes, de-rivatives of chromone - diflavonoles, isoflavones and 3-thyazolylchromones, complexes of these compounds with IIa-group metal ions. All indicated structures have intramolecular interfragment charge transfer in their excited states. For the chromone derivatives, intra- or intermolecular proton phototransfer is also characteristic.The project's goal is to effectuate theoretical and experimental investigation of the charge and proton transfer in these molecules, to analyze their influence on spectral properties and confor-mations of the molecules under study, and also to estimate the influence of the complex formation on the processes of charge and proton transfer, investigate the mechanisms of mutual transforma-tions of different forms that result from the elimination, proton transfer, proton addition, complex formation etc. Estimate the medium influence (solvent parameters, pH, metal ions concentration) on the processes of charge and proton transfer in the investigated compounds in the framework of their possible use as fluorescent probes in biochemistry, biophysics and medicine. Processes of the charge and proton transfer in the chalcone, chromone derivatives and cya-nine dyes were investigated, influence of these processes on the spectral properties under conditions of different medium polarity and acidity, and IIa-group metal ions concentration were studied. An intercommunication between the forms of the investigated compounds in their ground and excited states was shown, and conditions under which highly-emitting forms exist were found, which could be used to obtain analytical signal when used as fluorescent probes and indicators.
