Rhodium coatings hase been electrodeposited on 5920 copper contact plates with a silver sublayer. The use of these contact plates instead of silver plater in the manufacture of thyristors made it possible to reduce fivefold the silver consumption and to increase by several fold the service life of rectifiers used in metallurgy.
