It has been established that the defect formation was connected with overheat of metal during the process of bend forming. Recommendations on carrying out work for the correction of regimes of heating and deformation of pipeline components has been given. Methodical recommendations on carrying out mechanical tests in accordance with OST 34-42-700 and OST 34-42-701 have been worked out. Mathematical processing of experimental data with a volume of selections of 100 tensile tests and up to 300 hardnass tests at a trust level of 95 % has been carried out . It was determoned that there is a relation between Brinell haedness values and characteristics of mechanical properties of transition elements made of 20 grade steel.
