It was necessary to develop such compositions of coal blends and modes for neutralization of sulphurous wastes, combination of which would allow to produce coke with nearly equal sulphur values at all blocks of the plant. The analysis of production technology was conducted at OJSC "Markokhim". There were found the factors influencing sulphur of coke and of initial coals, termochemical transformations of different sulphur compounds during coking; technological mode; other sources of sulphur brought in to coals and coke. The recommendations were drawn out for sulphur content and blend compositions for different blocks of the plant, to the modes for neutralization of sulphurous wastes, that provides coke of equal sulphur content at different batteries of the plant. A basic factor was determined for efficiency of increasing operation evenness of blast furnaces with stable coke sulphur and of improving technical - economic indices of the cast-iron production based on it.
