In this connection there appeared a need to analyses the ability of a coke works to switch the arsenic-soda sulphur removal plants to a new catalyst instead of arsenic one. This measure allows one to calve ecological aspect of production as well, i.e. removal of arsenic from waste waters and sulphur. As a catalyst for this process it is suggested to use hydroquinone. Laboratory tests were conducted. Technological recommendations on the use of hydroquinone as a catalyst were developed. Economic expenses were calculated for this replacement.
