It was found that the efficiency of operation of the turbine installation is less than the design one. Several factors causing reduction of efficiency were identified, including the low efficiency of the LPC. The investigation has substantiated the necessity of developing and installing a system for monitoring steam moisture content variation downstream the last stage; and steam supercooling losses in the LPC have been defined. Design relationships for identifying the actual operational regimes of the last stage were defined. Recommendations were given for increasing the accuracy and validity of measuring several key parameters.
