It was determined that population incidence of newborn lung diseases in L'viv region during last years had a tendency to increase and in average did not differ from the rates in developed European countries (2-3 %). The prevalence of main perinatal risk factors and mortality rates in the group of newborns with lung pathology were significantly higher than in neonates without lung diseases. The incidence and peculiarities of allergic diseases clinical course were analyzed in infants and toddlers. Based on the results of conducted questionnaires the age prevalence of main complaints was studied. The leading risk factors for the development of neonatal lung diseases, allergic diseases in infants and toddlers and gastroduodenal pathology in school-age children were determined. Based on the obtained results the complex approach to the prevention and treatment of acute lung diseases in newborns was elaborated, the schemes of special nutrition of the infants with atopic diseases were optimized, the treatment methods for respiratory allergoses were improved, the complex of educational programs for the children suffering from bronchial asthma was implemented and the system for active health screening of school-age children in a large city was proposed. The approaches to eradication therapy in children with pyloric helicobacteriosis were elaborated. Study results implementation helped to improve health status in children of different age groups.
