The purpose of the work - the technology revision of corundum ceramics from alumina at temperature 1400 С of with ZrO2 addition, milled in corundum ball mill, as well as recommendations giving out upon fired alumina milling test in 100 l corundum ball mill. Methods of research: chemical, spectral, petrographic and phase analyses. рН clinker determination with the use of pH instrument рН 673, rheological properties determination using Bruckfilled LVDV-II+ Рrо, standard determination methods of open porosity, apparent density, strength and thermal shock resistance. Researches on technology revision of corundum ceramics with ZrO2 addition are carried out. The trial lot of the alumina, treated by salt water solution of ZrOCl2·8H2O, with the subsequent firing at temperature of 1400 С is manufactured. The influence of dispersing agents at milling of alumina in the laboratory corundum ball mill, modified ZrO2, on rheological behavior of slurry, properties of mould pieces and samples of corundum ceramics with ZrO2 addition is investigated. It is shown, that slurries, based on alumina, milled in the ball mill with corundum milling bodies and lining without lead-acid enrichment, with application both 0,1 % of triethanolamine (ТEА), and 1 % of dispersive alumina (ADS + ADW), have similar properties factors in comparison with slurries from vibromilled alumina with lead-acid enrichment. Samples of corundum ceramics based on alumina, milled with additions of 0,1 % ТEА and 1 % (ADS + ADW), are identical according to properties factors which meet requirements of technical specifications TS S of 26.2-00190503-250-2004 "High refractory corundum especially dense products with zirconia addition". Revisions of 100-liter ball mill with corundum milling bodies and lining are performed, parameters for dry milling of aluminas are picked up, corundum milling bodies in the shape of цильпебсов are designed and manufactured: 30 mm; h - 30 mm in amount of 100 kg, aswell as recommendations upon fired alumina milling test in 100-liter corundum ball mill are given out. According to 24 contracts trial lots of product from corundum ceramics with MgO, TiO2 и ZrO2 additions in amount of 400 kg of КОПМ, КОПМТ, КОПЦ-5 grades are manufactured and transferred to the customer. To continue the work towards opportunity examination of alumina milling, modified by ZrO2, in 100-liter ball mill with corundum milling bodies and lining without the subsequent lead-acid enrichment and the study of ceramic samples properties on the basis of such alumina, as well as towards expansion of application areas of products from corundum ceramics.
