The purpose of the work - the production technology improvement of dry mix with the use of normal spinel. Methods of researches - physical-chemical, petrographic, physical-mechanical and thermomechanical. The influence of the amount of normal corundum on properties of dry corundum and corundum spinel mixes is investigated. The opportunity of corundum and corundum spinel mixes manufacture both with complete and partial (63 wt.%) replacement of electrofused corundum of domestic production (fraction of 3-0,5 mm) into normal corundum is shown. The use of normal corundum allows to expand a raw-material base for manufacture of the specified mixes and to lower the cost price of their production. The specified mixes can be recommended as lining material for induction crucible furnaces of stainless steel smelting with temperature of smelted metal up to 1550оС. The influence of the amount of fine milled component on properties of dry mixes is explored. The opportunity of diminution of the fine milled component content in the composition of dry mixes is shown. The decrease of fine milled component content in the composition of dry mixes allows to maintain properties factors of samples, produced from them, approximately at a level of original compositions and thus to lower the dusting at lining performance. The pilot lot of dry corundum mix with the content of fine milled component in the amount 12 wt.% is produced, its properties are established and tests in the industrial conditions are carried out. Notes on the quality of a pilot lot of dry mix did not occur. According to the existing normative documentation on pilot production of OJSC "The Ukrainian research institute of refractories named after A. S. Berezhnoy" trial lots of dry mixes in the amount of 33,7 tons, including corundum mix of СК grade - 30,2 tons (with the reduced content of fine milled component - 10 t), corundumsppinel mix of СКШ grade - 3,5 tons are put out, whichare transferred to customers.
