The purpose of the work - production technology revision of mullitecorundum mortar. Methods of research - chemical, petrographic and thermomechanical analysis methods. The amount influence of breakage of mullitecorundum refractories and corundum refractories with the additive of zircon, normal corundum and the additive of chromium oxide on properties of mullitecorundum mortar of ММК-85 grade is investigated. The opportunity of mullitecorundum mortar production of ММК-85-1 grade is established: - With the content of 70 wt.% of breakage of mullitecorundum refractories; - With the content of 90 wt.% of breakage of corundum refractories with the additive of zircon; - With the content of 45 wt.% of normal corundum. It is shown, that mortar solutions of the above-stated compositions provide minimum throat thickness at a laying (0,5-0,8 mm) and high values of shear strength at high-temperature machining (16,7; 18,5; 19,3 MPа, correspondingly). The introduction of the chromium oxide additive in the composition of mullitecorundum mortar is inexpedient, as at maintenance of strength factors at a level of factors for the compositions containing breakage of mullitecorundum refractories and corundum of refractories with the additive of zircon, the cost price of mortar with the additive of chromium oxide increases. The technology revision of mullite mortars of ММЛ-62-1 and ММЛУ-62 grades is realized as a result of which the requirements upon the development of № 1 amendment to technical specifications on manufacture of mullite mortar are given. According to НД requirements of pilot production of OJSC "The Ukrainian Research Institute of Refractories named after A.S.Berezhnoy" the production technology of mullitecorundum mortar on a base of breakage of corundum refractories with the additive of zircon is mastered. The use of breakage of mullitecorundum refractories, breakage of corundum refractories with the additive of zircon and normal electrofused corundum inthe composition of mullitecorundum mortar of ММК-85-1 grade by complete or partial replacement of white electrofused corundum in it improves its adhesion properties. Shear strength of samples, bonded by mortar of the suggested compositions, after heat treatment at 1580°С with a curing of 6 hours increases by 26, 34 and 35,7 %, correspondingly in comparison with shear strength of samples, bonded by mullitecorundum mortar of ММК-85-1 grade on a base of white electrocorundum. According to НД requirement of pilot production of OJSC "The Ukrainian Research Institute of Refractories named after A.S.Berezhnoy" trial lots of mortar of ММК-85-1 grade are put out.
