It has bee shown that a principal evidence of the thermal mechanism is a considerable difference of angular and energy dependences of the sputtering yield from those for a cascade one. These conclusions have been confirmed by experiments on the compounds with low sublimation energy. It has been shown that the hexagonal yttrium manganite has constant cathion content, described with enough accuracy by YMnO3 formula. It has been revealed that yttrium substitutes to 50-60% of samarium atoms in a perovskite-like samarium manganite. Samarium is virtually not present in the structure of a hexagonal yttrium manganite.
