The aim of investigation is solution to the scattering problem by a perfectly conducting scatterer of arbitrary cross-section placed inside the interaction region of a minor bend of two waveguides, in order to investigate the electromagnetic characteristics of every element of the system and to optimize the waveguide joints transmitting quality. The method of investigation is the rigorous method based on generalization of the Green's integral theorem approach in common use for analyzing the waveguide junctions without heterogeneities in the interaction region. The characteristic feature of the proposed approach is that the weighing functions are taken satisfying not only the Helmholtz equation but the scatterer surface boundary conditions, which automatically takes the inclusion into account. The weighing functions system is obtained by solving two auxiliary problems of the scattering by an inclusion in a shortened waveguide. This results in some simple system of the algebraic equations for the scattered field amplitudes. This approach enables the all-wave scattering matrix obtaining in closed form for arbitrary number of modes. The method can be used in order to optimize the waveguide structures working.
