Karazin popup.description2 Object of studies is single and multi layer thin metal films. The aim of the project is to investigate the diffusion activity of multi-layer metal films versus their characteristic size and preparation conditions. The research methods. Films were obtained by means of vacuum condensation. The films structure was explored by high-energy electron diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, X-Ray diffraction methods and Auger electron spectroscopy. It has been shown that the under vacancy mechanism the surface and bulk dif-fusion coefficients increase of many orders of magnitude with reducing of the small particles sizes. Is has been found the formation of alloy in Cu-Au film sys-tem obtained by sequential deposition of components on the substrate at room temperature. The main results are received for the first time.
