The determination of the output of bulk and blast-furnace coke depending on the volatile matter yield from a charge and the process conditions of cokemaking at the Makeev Coke Works showed that the output of bulk and blast furnace coke depended, mainly, on the grade composition of coal blends and the coking period. An increase of the volatile matter yield from a charge deteriorates the quality of blast-furnace coke, especially the reactivity index (CRI) and strength after reaction with СО2 (CSR), determined by the method "Nippon Steel".
