The research project aims at developing models for electrodynamic processes in electrically active middle atmosphere and at revealing new mechanisms for their coupling to the general near-Earth environment state. The research project applies methods of aeronomy, space dynamics and electrodynamics, random signal processing, the "Differential Absorption" technique, and Kharkiv V. Karazin National University MF radar. The deterministic functional relations between basic ionospheric plasma parameters and large mesospheric electric fields are obtained in an analytical form. This model permits the analysis of temporal and spatial characteristics of disturbances in the basic ionospheric D region parameters which arise in the large mesospheric electric fields. The computer simulations show that the primary electron temperature disturbancesas well as following them electron-neutral collision frequency disturbances and disturbances in the fractional loss of energy per electron collision with a heavy particle predominate. The secondary disturbances, ionized particle densities, are significantly smaller in magnitude (by a factor of a few times and more) and slower in characteristic times of development and relaxation than the primary disturbances in the electron temperature. Analytical probability density functions for relative disturbances in the effective electron collision frequency and temperature are obtained for the Rayleigh distribution of large mesospheric electric fields. These theoretical probability density functions are the necessary complement to the deterministic theoretical model. The histograms of the relative disturbances in the electron temperature and effective collision frequency presented in this report form the basis for the simplified statistical empirical model of disturbances in nonisothermal lower ionospheric plasma in large mesospheric electric fields.
