A rise in efficacy of the clinic system for children who have mitral valve prolapse based on the studing of mechanisms of realization, the elaboration of diagnostic and prognostic criteria, and the advancement of the rehabilitation. Method. A conventional clinicolaboratory study, ECG, EchoCG, abdominal ultrasound, biochemical study (lipid peroxidation, antioxidant defence, the serum electrolite level), immunological study (the serum Ig A, M, G, E, IL-6, IL-10 levels, the serum CD3+, CD4+, CD8+, CD22+ quantity), hormonal study (the serum thyroid-stimulating hormone, thyroxine, triiodthyronine, calcitonin, parathyroid hormone, cortisol levels). Novelty. New facts about the development of mitral valve prolapse have been obtained. Diagnostic and prognostic criteria of different variants of course have been worked out. The complex of treatment measures has been developed to make progress in children who have mitral valve prolapse. Effectiveness. Making progress in 94 % children with mitral valve prolapse, decreasing of prolapse intensity in 17 % children. Application.
