E., Smolanka I.I., Registration Date 25-12-2007 Organization Ukrainian Research Institute of Oncology and Radiology popup.description2 Object of study: models of experimental tumor growth in animals: carcinosarcoma Walker-256, Geren's carcinoma, Pliss lymphosarcoma, melanoma B16,sarcoma 45; patients with breast cancer, malignant skin melanoma, sarcoma of soft tissues, extremities and trunk; the medical image; Doppler spectrograms; membrane-bound enzymes in erythrocytes of rats. The objective of study: to investigate the efficiency of modifying influence of electromagnetic radiation with increased component of magnetic field on malignant tumors in complex therapy. Methods of study: physicochemical, radiodiagnostics, statistical. The equipment: personal computer; physical phantoms; the device for regional short-wave inductothermia „MAGNITHERM" (Radmir, Kharkov); ultrasonic diagnostic device ATL HDL 5000 (Phillips); metal ruler of 300 mm length, scales BM-150, auxanometer, the mercury thermometer C 195, spectrophotometer JENW LTD 6305 UV/VIS (UK).The design is developed and the experimental stand for a bioindicator estimation of theabsorbed doze of electromagnetic irradiation from device „MAGNITHERM" is made. Its testing on physical phantoms is performed. Findings of experimental study of influence of high-frequency regional electromagnetic irradiation on growth of transplanted tumors of animals have shown, that the very-high-frequency irradiation can cause stimulation of tumor growth. Availability of the effect of regional very- high-frequency electromagnetic irradiation and doxorubicin on regulation of membrane-bound and lipid-depended enzymes in erythrocytes of rats with Walker-256 carcinosarcoma is shown. Universal algorithms are developed for software product of semiautomatic allocation of contour for diagnostic interest which can be used for estimation of efficiency in complex therapy with use of „MAGNITHERM" device by medical digital images. The algorithm for calculation of parameters of electromagnetic field is developed for selection of optimal initial capacity and a geometrical configuration of applicator for planning ofinductothermia in complex therapy with use of „MAGNITHERM" device. It is revealed that distribution of electromagnetic field in space during inductothermia depends on anthropological characteristics of the patient. Electric component of electromagnetic field in a loop of applicator is the more the more is the weight or surface of a body of the patient. Results of the analysis of clinical studies evidence that during the immediate terms after use of systemic chemotherapy and local inductotherapy after the treatment of patients generalized form of skin melanoma in 33,3 % short-term stabilization of the process has been noted. After neoadjuvant chemo-, radiotherapy and inductothermia of patients with sarcoma of soft tissues of extremities and trunk in 45,5 % of patients partial regress is noted, and in 54,55 % stabilization of tumor size. In breast cancer patients after poly chemotherapy on the background of inductothermia quantitative characteristics of intra-tumor blood flow in small vessels have increased, 17% increase of regressions of primary tumors and 57 % regression of lymph nodes and metastases is registered with constancy of side effects.
