Rivers of Ukraine in the framework of conception scheme of hydrology-ecological analysis were considered. That allowed determining features of evolution of river channel deformation (vertical and horizontal) for limited conditions as well as for free meandering. Assessment of long-term fluctuations of climatic characteristics and hydrology-hydrochemical characteristics of river flow allowed choosing proper periods for the analysis of such changes. Researches which were done of the water balance elements within Ukraine allowed to assess the reasons of modern water runoff changes. Long-term dynamic of hazardous substances discharge from permanent and mobile sources is investigated.
