Purpose: analysis, systematization and classification of the factors causing formation of doses of internal and external exposure for the personnel of category A in NPPs during professional activity associated with sources of ionizing radiation. Methods: dosimetric (instrumental and calculational), statistical. Results: The classification of radiation factors by their importance (during formation of doses of the personnel of category A in NPPs) is performed. Co-60, I-131, Cs-134, Cs-137 are main radionuclides, forming internal doses of the personnel. Ignoring or impossibility of the control of wider radionuclides list (including short-lived radionuclides) does not allow establishing a full and reliable state of formation of internal doses on NPPs at the present time. The major factors that influence on transition from results of an individual dosimeter to an effective internaldose are geometry of exposure, construction of dosimeter and dosimeter location place on a body of the person.
