In vitro response of peripheral blood lymphocytes on action of ionizing radiation has been studied using evaluation of cell's death and expression of some proteins (p53, p21, MDM2) by Western-blot analysis. 4 types of cell response were found, 3 of them were connected with p53 and ATM genes anomalies (p53 mutations, p53 deletions, ATM gene anomalies). p53 mutations were revealed and confermed using direct sequence in 4 patients. Normal cell response was found in the majority of patients (75.6%). Clinical significance of received data has been analyzed. It was established that alterations of cell response were associated with duration of treated period and disease progression, for new diagnosed patients - with younger age, B-symptoms and CD38 expression. Prognostic significance of these alterations consisted in unequal response on treatment. On the basis of study the patent of Ukraine "The determination of risk development of cytomegalovirus infection for chronic lymphocytic leukemia patients" was prepared.
