The results obtained: models of service life of structural materials on a basis of kinetic theory of strength, thermodynamics of irreversible processes, mesomechanics, failure mechanics, a theory of accidents and fractal mechanics are developed. Based on their synthesis, the generalized model of failure accumulation is mode enabling probability indices of service life of structural elements to be found under static loads and conditions of accelerated tests to be called for. A method for extending service life of structural elements under long-time service conditions and constant values of loads and temperature is elaborated.
