Head Kryvoruchko P., Registration Date 25-01-2008 Organization The open joint stock company " The Ukrainian research institute of refractories named A.S.Berezhnoy" popup.description2 The research subject is corundum chrome oxide zirconium silicate refractories containing 30 % Cr2O3. The purpose of the work is production technology development of corundum chrome oxide zirconium silicate refractories with increased content of Cr2O3. The research methods are chemical and spectrum analyses, optical microscopy, standard methods of mass flowability determination, open porosity, apparent density, ultimate compression strength, thermal resistance, deformation temperature under load, residual dimension measurements while refractory heating, crucible method of refractory corrosion resistance determination. The influence of component proportion of furnace charge and atmosphere while firing on the structure and properties of corundum oxide zirconium silicate refractories has been researched. It has been established that the content of 30 % Cr2O3 in charge provides obtaining refractories with higher corrosion resistance to glass bath "E", "C" and basalt in comparison with corundum oxide zirconium silicate refractories and corundum chrome oxide zirconium silicate refractories with 10 % of Cr2O3. It has been shown that firing in reducing environment doesn't result in essential improvement of properties of corundum chrome oxide zirconium silicate refractories containing 30 % Cr2O3 in comparison with firing in oxidizing medium. The influence of different water-reducing admixture and masses dampness on properties of vibrocast corundum chrome oxide zirconium silicate masses and samples has been researched. The additions providing the best mass flowability by their minimal dampness have been determined and the optimum amount of these additions has been determined. It has been shown that the refractories produced by method of vibrocasting are characterized by better apparent density and less open porosity in comparison with the refractories produced by method of semidry molding. The comparative researches of corrosion resistance of the developed corundum chrome oxide zirconium silicate refractories of optimum composition and other refractory types (mullite, mullite corundum, corundum spinel, corundum, corundum oxide zirconium silicate, corundum chrome oxide zirconium silicate refractories with 10 % of Cr2O3, corundum chrome oxide, chrome oxide, silica and fire clay) to glass bath "E", "C" and basalt have been carried out. The researched refractories are located in a row in decreasing order of their corrosion resistance to the indicated baths. The work shall be continued in the line of mastering the developed technology of corundum chrome oxide zirconium silicate refractories containing 30 % Cr2O3 in pilot production of OJSC "The Ukrainian research institute of refractories named after A.S. Berezhnoy" and their introduction in glass-melting furnace of glass fiber manufacture. Product Description popup.authors popup.nrat_date 2020-04-02 Close
