The purpose of the work is technology reprocessing of thixotropic trough mass for blast furnaces. The research methods are physical mechanical, chemical ones. The comparative researches of the influence of import and domestically produced fine-particle materials on thixotropic trough mass properties of corundum silicon carbide composition have been carried out. It has been established that the domestically produced material can be successfully used for thixotropic trough mass production with high indices of physical mechanical properties. The comparative researches of the influence of different plasticizers on thixotropic trough mass flowability have been carried out. It has been shown high indices of mass flowabiluty (147-119%) are provided while using optimum plasticizer in amount that is 10 times lower than that of traditionally applied dispersing aluminas. The optimum plastisizer is recommended for using in the course of mass production. The thixotropic trough mass composition with the substitution for domestically produced fine-particle alumosilicate material of import analogues and with the use of new plastisizer which allows to extend the source of raw materials has been completed. The pilot batch of corundum silicon carbide mix for thixotropic trough mass with the use of domestically produced natural alumosilicate material of high dispersion has been produced and dispatched to the customer. The work shall be continued in the line of further improvement of thixotropic trough mass, its wide industrial tests in service and its regular application.
