The purpose of the work is refractory furniture production technology improvement. The research methods are chemical, petrographic, physical mechanical ones. The researches of the influence of fire clay grain composition on thermal resistance of samples of high-aluminous composition have been carried out. The possibility of using fire clay of fraction 3-0; 3-0,5 and less than 0,5 mm in charge in exchange for fused mullite which allows widening the source of raw materials while production of refractory furniture (boxes, crucibles, etc) has been shown. The pilot samples with the use of fire clay in furnace charge had high thermal resistance ( more than 20 heat changes), ultimate compression strength (95-143 MPa) and initial softening temperature under load of 0,2 MPa (1610-1750 оC). The pilot batches of mullite corundum products of refractory furniture (boxes and crucibles of 2 dimension types) as well as burner rocks of 2 dimension types), support bars and tubes have been produced by method of vibrocasting in pilot production of the institute. The work shall be continued in the line of introduction of the developed refractories with the use of fire clay in exchange for the fused mullite and mastering new dimension types of refractory products.
