Goal: To identify the initial (without in vitro exposure to bleomycin) frequency and spectrum of peripheral blood lymphocyte chromosome aberrations in humans effected by Chornobyl accident agents. Methods: cytogenetic analysis of human peripheral blood lymphocytes. It was established that the group of "Shelter" workers, whose middle-group frequency of radiogenic markers corresponded to the checking and spontaneous level, turned out to be the least burdened in compliance with the cytogenetic criteria. It is followed by ARS-diagnosed groups and groups of fighters of the Chornobyl accident consequences, which had the increased frequencies of the residual (uneliminated) unstable chromosome markers of radiational impact as well as the possible initial radiationally induced stable chromosome aberrations. The maximal cytogenetic effect, which exceeded even the one of the patients with ARS, was observed in the group of agricultural workers, but the small number of people in this group may cause the randomness of the results that were got.
