Karazin popup.description2 Research object - surface waves which propagate along a boundary at plasma and dielectric in cylinder chambers and support a gas discharge subject to the condition low pressure of working gas. Purpose of work - in theory to investigate the features of surface waves in strongly inhomogeneous plasma-dielectric structures in the regime of low pressure of working gas and to define efficiency of transmission of energy inoto plasma. Research methods - the theoretical analysis and numerical computer modelling. It has been developed the theoretical model of distribution of electromagnetic eigenwaves which propagate in cylinder dielectric waveguide structures, that it is filled by inhomogeneous plasma. It has been analyzed the efficiency of transmission of energy is from surface waves to plasma by the Joule heating and the resonance damping of surface waves in the plasma resonance region and by a stochastic mechanism. It is shown, that the last mechanism (from the afore-mentioned mechanisms of transmission ofenergy) is determinating from the process of transmission of energy to the discharge in most cases at low gas pressure. It is set, that distribution of electromagnetic surface waves in the noted waveguides can be used for creation of effective sources of plasma.
