Karazin popup.description2 The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of hemolytic agent on heme-heme oxygenase system and antioxidant-prooxidant status of rat's heart, vessels, lung and blood serum under inhibition of NO-synthases. Subject of this investigation was heme metabolism and some parameters of antioxidant-prooxidant status of rat's heart, vessels, lung and blood serum under co-administration of hemolytic agent and NO-synthase inhibitor. The Wistar rats were used in the work. The hemin chloride administration in dose 1.5 mg/100 g b. w. was found to cause accumulation of the total heme and TBA-reactive products in rat blood serum and vessels. Pretreatment by N?-nitro-L-arginine (0.5 h before hemin chloride administration) didn't effect the dynamics of the total heme and TBA-reactive products accumulation. The increase of heme oxygenase activity was observed in vessels after hemin chloride administration. This effect was strengthened by N?-nitro-L-arginine pretreatment. The changes of heme oxygenase activity andthe total heme level in heart were not observed at any periods studied. The increase of the TBA-reactive products level in heart after exogenous hemin injection was accompanied by increase of nitrites content and blocked by pretreatment of NOS inhibitor. The N?-nitro-L-arginine alone caused the accumulation of the total heme, TBA-reactive products and the increase of heme oxygenase activity in vessels.
